Natural Shades NGO (Prakarti ki Chaya) is a non-profit organisation working to protect nature, create safe habitats for birds and small animals, and encourage environmental responsibility in our communities. Through our Save Sparrow Project, plantation drives, Scrap to Useful workshops, and educational and social awareness activities, we turn simple ideas into meaningful action.
What we do
Natural Shades is an environmental initiative dedicated to creating a greener, healthier and more sustainable environment for people, birds and small animals. Through activities such as habitat creation, bird and squirrel nests, plantation, cleanliness drives, environmental awareness and “Scrap to Useful” initiatives, we encourage communities to care for nature and make better use of available resources. We also extend our support during natural disasters and extreme winter conditions, and contribute towards education, social awareness and community upliftment. Our aim is to create a meaningful connection between people and nature while contributing to a more caring and sustainable society—one small step at a time.
Shelter for small birds and animals
The efforts made by team to provide shelter to birds & small animals was appreciated by many and featured in the Amar Ujala newspaper.
Turning scrap wood into safe homes for birds — we have made and installed 2,000+ bird nests, providing sparrows and other small birds with safe spaces to live, nest and breed.

Kanawani fire relief
On 16 April 2026 there was intense fire in the Jhuggis of Kanawani Village Ghaziabad were more than 250 jhuggis were burnt leading to huge loss to around 1500 people . In this critical situation our tream visited the site to help in whatever way it was possible
